Teaching Philosophy

I teach with that spirit: helping scientists reason carefully, sit with uncertainty, and trust their own instincts when the data gets hard. Rigorous science is only half the work. The Global South bears the greatest burden of climate change while remaining underrepresented in the research shaping our future. I work with students from premier institutions, connect early-career researchers across the Indian Ocean region, and bring these questions into UN-affiliated programmes and policy spaces where decisions get made. My deepest investment is in students who will change what climate science looks like—and who it serves.

If you’re a student and want to connect, I’d love to hear from you — aditi.modi@tropmet.res.in
